7 reasons you should go to Rain City Chronicles this weekend:

Rain City Chronicles is a live story-telling night in Vancouver. If you have been to Rain City Chronicles, you know how amazing it is. If you have never heard of it, it’s similar format as The Moth but with it’s own unique swagger (basically the most entertaining themes, drinks/treats and an incredible community built by the organizers and storytellers). If you are aware of it but have never been, and told yourself time and time again that you are going to go to one, make it to this one. I’m pretty sure the combo of summer and stories is going to be magic. Here are 7 reasons you do not want to miss Rain City Chronicles presents “The Great Outdoors” this Saturday August 9:

1. It’s on a SATURDAY NIGHT – that means you don’t have to rush right from work and have a cookie dinner. Make a relaxed, early meal at home, or better yet, you can BRING a picnic and feast the entire time. Either way, you will have a full and happy belly, which will allow you to focus mainly on all the beer you will be drinking (and not be regretting at work the next day).

2. It’s OUTSIDE! With all this sunshine we are getting I am constantly saying I wish I could do more every-day-activities while being outside. Like showering, brushing my teeth, working, basically everything. So here is a chance to take one of those normally-inside-activities and be outdoors. You can even spend the whole day naked on Wreck Beach and then walk on up.

3. Explore the UBC BOTANICAL GARDENS – It is one of those spots that as a transplant to Vancouver I probably would never go see, so this is a really great excuse.

4. Take a moment to reflect on summer by sharing it’s stories – Summer is speeding by, so let’s remember the wise words of Ferris Bueller: Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

5. Stories about the great outdoors = endless possibilities.
